And once again, if it were only because of the ratings, that brings us back to my last point that you didn't address regarding fake news.

I always thought the fake news line had less to do with the stories that were covered and more to do with the media dishonestly spinning those stories. And I'm fine with calling out most media outlets when they do that, btw. But Trump thinks any criticism of him is unfair, and he lies so much that I would never take his word, even over the most biased news company.

Probably cause minorities never owned white people as slaves and white people never had to fight minorities to get basic human rights.

That may have something to do with it. Also, I don't live near too many black people so stories like this don't really scare me. This kind of violence is something I mostly only see on television. But many black people do think they have to worry about white people getting away with killing them.they've seen it happen for generations, and maybe they think it's still a possibility. Doesn't help when the president makes white nationalists feel welcomed.

"Fake News" was a term coined originally by leftist corporations and media, more particularly towards completely made up stories on social media slandering Hillary Clinton (but not so much the fake stories slandering Trump). It became a major talking point for a few days, which was, of course, only a talking point because that's what the media was talking about.

Then it quickly transpired into some sites such as CNN creating "Fake News" lists, which heavily included conservative media outlets---attempting to lump them in with satire websites or fringe websites with literal fake news. This attempt quickly backfired, and they were forced to retract multiple websites.

Then, the term "fake news" was thrown onto them with their heavily biased, dishonest, and spinning of stories and the term won't leave them for quite some time. Trump uses the term quite often, but he isn't the creator or anti-creator, if you will, of the term. This isn't even about Trump, though.

To further address your responses:

I'm sure many white people would feel they had to worry about black people killing them, if the media would sensationalize and cover it more. Make a huge ordeal about it, etc. Given that 60% of people in this country are white, if they truly wanted to boost ratings---they could boost the hell out of them.

But they aren't. And the major mainstream websites such as NY Times, CNN, and WAPO (or televised mainstream) seems to not be even mentioning this story, let alone sensationalizing it.

Don't you find that strange?
