Topic | bakery in Cali refusing to serve same-sex couples faces backlash |
Darmik 08/30/17 6:31:41 PM #50: | LotrMorgoth posted... For me the difference here is the bakery didn't outright turn the people away, they provided a direct referral to another provider to complete the service-- this flies in the medical field, why not here? Because it's not a medical referral it's a cake? This excuse would fly if it was for a specific cake they don't provide. But they just outright refused to give wedding cakes to homosexual customers. That's a no-no. s0nicfan posted... But indentured servitude is also not legal. You can't force someone to do something for you, even if you offer to pay them. I don't agree with the bakers' opinions, but how is making them bake a cake they don't want to not a form of forced labor? Err what? They sell cakes to people. That's their business. It's not indentured servitude. --- Kind Regards, Darmik ... Copied to Clipboard! |
