Without reading into it much, I can't help but wonder why someone with such a disdain for a particular
people and culture would move to that country, let alone open it's home to one of their youths.

That aside, I get the bacon thing, the rest is inexcusable.

What if the Muslim family, despite their faults, was still the best available/equipped family for the girl to live with?

How much of an obscene downgrade would option B have to be to be worse than being a young child forced
abandon her culture, religion, and very language? If you're factoring in every possible qualifier, I stand
to guess the next available option would have to be an absolute cesspool to offset the outright UN-nuturing
and developmentally hindering environment she was subjected to. Not to sound like "that guy", but if
the roles were reversed and she was a muslim immigrant child who was forced to wear a cross and not
a hijab, eat bacon every meal, and was told the women of her culture were submissive chattel, and was not
allowed to communicate in the only language she understood. The amount of uproar could be heard from orbit
and people would demand to know why she was placed there.

It was an incompetent mistake, though. That's what it boils down to. The outrage should be the lack of consideration
regarding her placement, just as much (and likely more so) as the intolerance of her caregivers.
