What it means is that getting a new party member is different from having a party member you already love. The fact that you can adopt a new dog doesn't mean dogs are worthless any more than the fact that you can adopt a new child means that children are worthless.

My dog is part of my family.

lol I "get" what you all mean you know
It's hard to not just try to annoy you people when you just assume everyone you're talking to is an idiot who can't comprehend shit lmfao

Yeah I get it, you're attached to it. It's like a family member, sure.

I have gotten off the rails here for sure

but really all I want to say is some people probably did not prioritize saving their dogs over a) their own lives, and b) more expensive things and life essentials

Fear has a way of making humans do irrational things
I want to believe most good people who could afford to take their dogs probably did
the ones who left them behind either left in too much of a hurry or they're shitty people

I'm sorry man but it's really just not as tragic as the human lives and the toll this hurricane is taking on the city
