The thing is, he could very well be leading people to damnation because they don't know if they're living in sin. Pointing that out to people often makes them uncomfortable, but that's par for the course. If you're really concerned about going to heaven then you need to be given wake up calls if you're (pardon the meme reference) straying from God's light every day. Uplifting messages can be good, don't get me wrong, but if all you're preaching is "times are tough, you're doing great, don't give up" when you're a Christian pastor (who's...you know, supposed to be leading people to salvation) then there's something wrong.
