If the principal actually said girls shouldn't wear leggings unless they're a size 0 or 2, then they can report that. But just assuming that that was the meaning of her message isn't acceptable for a news article. They should just be reporting what people say.

"Just assuming" as if that's not the case. Why should the principal even say anything otherwise? If looking fat is perfectly acceptable to her, then the comment doesn't make sense in the first place. Don't be intentionally obtuse. I don't care much for Huffington Post, but this is quite obviously what the principal meant.
