I feel like gaming communities always come up with stupid names for this shit just to make things more confusing and harder to get into if you're not already a part of that community. There's a sense of elitism to it, where it feels like they want to drive away anyone who isn't already an insider and knows what they mean. I remember when Smash 4 first came out and on Smashboards there were all these people jumping over each other to come up with some random obfuscating term for a "technique" where you move in a certain way that turned out to not actually exist. --- Okay, I rolled a 14.
