Praised constantly growing up, def made me think I was better than everyone else when I was younger (or at the least just infinitely smarter), prob was a bit of a douche because of it, if I had to guess, but I was never really full of myself. Probably took me until high school to realize there were plenty of other people as smart/smarter than me, and college to realize that work ethic, responsibility, etc >>> intelligence. Don't think I'm particularly intelligent anymore and do not like receiving praise these days, just makes me uncomfortable.
