When you think about it, Millenials are the most traumatized American generation probably since WW2. When we were young we realized our country couldn't protect us on 9/11. A few years later the economic security we had was devastated by the financial crisis and the ongoing effects of globalization. Pervasive social media revealed all of the ongoing issues with race relations. Finally we have 2016 come along for perhaps the greatest shock of all with Trump's election, which was unthinkable.

Was any American generation ever this shook? We must at least be in the top 3.

People call me a millenial, but I don't follow this logic at all. I was in college when 9/11 happened. I do not recall any financial crisis. I remember a minor recession but I just ignored it and it really had no noticeable direct impact on me. I didn't use any social media until I was in my mid 20s. The trump thing was fucking annoying but aside from that, I'm not really understanding the argument here.
