Anyhoo, the main problems I had with Zesty Tales, is:

- the equipment skill system is bafflingly over-complicated. It's like they were trying to do a Diablo style loot system (for some reason) but thought, "You know what Diablo style loot systems need? A lot more complications and menu-time trying to make sense of what to use to be effective" not that it seemed to matter a ton. I think I played on...hard, and didn't seriously grind it out or anything and was able to clear the EX dungeon even. I did spend a total of like 2~3 hours in menus/loot managing though, but that's really not nearly enough to make true full use of it.

- The game didn't seem to balance the armitization dynamic well. It's possible I just never truly learned how to play in the system well but it pretty much felt like whenever I wasn't armatized, I was just doing pretty poop damage and was very frail. I mean, the difference between being alone and being in that mode is such a giant stat boost that it seems really hard to design encounters that work well in both cases.

But overall I didn't have any huge problem with the game. Maybe that's because in part I didn't find any party member super grating, which alone is like a gift to me considering that while I haven't played a ton of Tales games, I have played some with characters I cannot stand, and it really drags things down for me. So when I get one where at the very least I find everyone relatively inoffensive, I breathe a sigh of relief.

I am snazzier, hot, hot rant. Warily slight as.
Croak rush, OK? Weirder, almighty make out. ::)
