One is defining the modern-age male attitude for 2008, and the other in 2016 was marking the moments of the SJW/feminist era. Tropic Thunder was the biggest shit-show I had ever seen in a movie, and newer Ghostbusters is the 2016 version of that. Tropic Thunder had a lot of "toxic masculinity" that is abundant in a lot of American culture these days.
