anybody who can count numbers is more than suitable for an entry level accounting job

anyone who can count numbers...? I guess I know what you mean, but it would sure help if they at least knew about things like debit/credit, the general ledger, financial statements, the balance sheet, deferred revenue, budgets, etc.etc.

That is much, much easier to learn on the job than something like swift or any other technical industry. Shouldn't take more than a month for a complete moron to know which gl accounts hit the I/S and B/S. You repeat the same entries everyday/month/year end. Budgets can be broken done, and im pretty sure you can explain deferred revenue and people would have an idea of what you mean

To get an accounting degree at UMass you needed 21 Accounting credits when i was attending now it's bumped to 30
