The people who get upset about this are generally low-functioning fringe liberals with no real power in the world. This brand of stupidity is no different from Flat Earthers or Scientologists, it just shows up in a different context that is a bigger hot button than most (I.E. Social norms and standards, which are always an extremely visible topic).

Not at all. These types of people are usually indoctrinated with these ideas in college where they go on to either become professors or enter the workplace where they enact super progressive ideals on others.

Curiously though despite having many more liberals friends than you probably do, I rarely seem to encounter this dangerous progressivism anywhere except in these fluff internet pieces. For the most part, most people just want to get on with their day job.

I try not to associate with people who are more radical but they do exist and they educate young minds, own businesses, corporations, make hiring decisions and so on. There are plenty of non-fluff stories that have happened even very recently about people criticizing progressive agendas being pushed at work.
