My friends are the core fanbase. We have been playing these games since the original RBY. We grew up battling over Link Cable, and are currently battling over Wifi. Technology has evolved, and so have we. None of us feel insulted by these trailers. All of my friends love the Kanto callbacks, because we love references to when we first got into the series. It's a great nostalgia blast. We love the new, but we also love the old. Why is it a fuck you to the core fanbase if the core fanbase loves this? A fuck you to you personally, maybe, but not to the core fanbase. Did you just have a horrible childhood and hate to be reminded of it? I just don't understand your vitriol. Why is pandering to us equal to pandering to casuals to you? Most hardcore fans I know of, including ones that battle competitively, also love the callbacks.
