TopicI never got why people get mad when you say their favorite game isn't a sport.

Most dictionary definitions would disagree.
Unless you're just trying to support your own views and don't care about what words actually mean.

When people think of sports, they think of athletics. There's many definitions for tons of words, which is why context is important. When someone claims playing certain video games is a sport, they're trying to place it's credibility with stuff like basketball, baseball, football, and the like.


How do you expect video games to gain credibility if you want people to not take them seriously as sports?

Why do they have to be considered "sports" to have credibility? Colleges are already giving out scholarships for it, so why not just continue to build off that momentum? If, and when, "e-sports" becomes a big time player in the world, it won't matter if it's a sport or not.
