Fan made does not mean it is any less of a notable source. Wikipedia itself is fan made. The Cave is consistently depicted as a singular entity that can conceptualize and internalize self-reflective concepts and therefore the entirety of it as a singular unit is the entity for which people are voting. Pointing out that the Disney wiki is created by other Disney fans in fact only serves to prove that as a popularized concept, the Cave is recognized as a character by fans. A location can still be a character. The Turtle from Majora's Mask, for example, is another example of this. As is the Turtle from Discworld which is in fact the foundation of Discworld itself.
