I'd imagine a shower uses more water than a sink....How is it saving water if its going to take you just as long to brush your teeth? are you soaping up with the other hand?

Exactly. In the time spent brushing your teeth, you're going to have the water running, and a running shower uses more water than a running faucet.

If you're REALLY worried about water consumption, you need to pour water in a cup instead of doing it in the shower or running the faucet.

Better yet, don't brush your teeth or shower at all! That saves water!
