Riku is definitely a bit of a slog since you can't customize your deck + you don't have magic cards. And there is only one friend card: Mickey. Riku's playstyle basically focuses on learning the deck and enemies in each world so you can reliably card break into dark mode. After that, your deck reloads automatically and it's generally set up to string sleights together. He only has a few sleights, but the ones he does have are pretty fun and very effective. Plus his raw combo DPS is huge once he hits dark mode. Re:CoM adds a nice mechanic where same number cards result in a card duel, where you have to break several enemy cards in a row, and lets you do a special move if you pull it off. Overall, I think it's fun, but grinding to 99 takes way longer and, generally speaking, it's a bit harder since you're stuck with your deck. The thing is that traversing the maps is even more barebones than Sora. Although they are usually smaller maps, there are no cutscenes at all in almost all the Disney worlds, with cutscenes almost exclusively happening in the staircases between.
