| ClockworkHare 08/14/17 12:31:57 AM #20: | Pro athletes who aren't total douchebags give underprivileged youth who lack gifted intelligence hope that they could still reach success someway. Even if the kids never actually become athletes themselves, it can help knowing that someone else in the world with mere basic intelligence can still make it big. It can open their views to similar opportunities that are closer to home and practical. And frankly, speaking from experience working in medical fields, quite a few doctors who prevent fatalities are still douchebags. Being a doctor is not a badge of honor in itself. Being an dependable and ethical doctor who displays at least bare minimum compassion towards patients even after years of practicing is what honorable medicine is.
