So apparently Roy Moore (who was removed as Alabama's Chief Justice for refusing to remove a Ten Commandments monument, was reelected, and then was suspended/resigned for ethics violations when he issued an order telling lower court judges not to comply with the Supreme Court's ruling legalizing same sex marriage) is currently likely to be the GOP Senate nominee for Alabama (polls have him looking pretty safe for the first round and leading by like 10 points in the runoff).

Meanwhile, on the Democratic side, the serious candidate (Doug Jones) is currently trailing in the polls to some random guy who happens to be named Robert Kennedy Jr.

This is hilarious.

Alabama papers have dubbed Kennedy a "mystery candidate" and campaign finance reports show that, by the end of June, he hadn’t hired any staff or spent any money on anything other than online fundraising processing fees.

And he's not just trailing in the polls. "Not That Robert Kennedy Jr." is getting 49% of the vote in a seven person field, up more than 2-1 on his nearest competitor.

USA USA USA

Do you have to spend money to win elections? Maybe he is actually well liked for his views... lol
