Samus has probably been the most stable Noble Niner though, yeah. Wasn't FFT much stronger back then than it has been since? And the FF7 loss was probably SFF. Direct extrapolation has MGS2 beating 1. Maybe we all just expect the MGS games to be stronger because of how highly-regarded they are plus Snake's contest strength. I remember until Prime's showing in GOTD a lot of us were surprised that no Metroid game seemed to have much strength.
