They're fine, but let's not pretend they were incredible plots. Even FE9 had a pretty bare-bones plot; it was just pretty well-written and focused on the right parts of the plot. Fire Emblem has always been about the charm and style above all else and I feel like Fates had enough of that. The changes in gameplay makes it heads above any other FE game, too.
