Politics aside, Reddit's default format makes the upvoted things more visible and the downvoted things not, which could potentially influence signal for a given aspect and otherwise just make a huge echochamber for any subreddit.

That's my chief complaint about Reddit, tbh. I much prefer gamefaqs (and 4chan, from an organizational standpoint) because everything is in chronological order and there's a lack of up/down votes.

Reddits main perks are the ability for users to self generate subreddits and being a centralized hub for all sorts of cross pollination.

The topic (and link) are refined clickbait, but it's mostly just harping on the fact that "angry people like to circlejerk, and it makes money"
