Disney was in a bit of a slump in the mid to late 90's. How many direct to video sequels did they do for their animated movies then? How many crappy sequels did they make for Air Bud? The 90's live action Jungle Book was from Disney too. If anything their stuff today is better. They still banked on the their old and popular stuff but it was solely aimed at kids who didn't know any better.
