Topic	trails of cold steel is simply the game that has it all imo.

How much will I be missing out if I haven't played those? There are some references to a couple of characters from TitS, some vague references to the events of the games, and a recurring character that shows up in Cold Steel. If you haven't played TitS, the references will be a bit lost on you, but it won't diminish your enjoyment one bit.
