MX's family was persistently harassed by the Klan, personally, for civil rights activities in a rural area. His father was murdered by the klan, tied to train tracks and run over as such. It was ruled a "suicide", and his family was denied his father's life insurance as such. The stress of dealing with all of this led to his mother having a nervous breakdown, and he and all his siblings were put into foster care. MLK, coming from a middle class church family in a semi-enlightened southern city, had it quite easy compared to what Malcolm X dealt with. --- ... Copied to Clipboard! |
