Who initiated the divorce and for what reason?

She did. Got tired of him having to move around for the military. He was supposed to quit (or however getting out of the military works) after last year but he signed on for more years because she wanted him to go to college and he didn't want to.

something like that

All military guys do is f*** around with other women when deployed anyway lol

I've heard this before, and my question is, where the heck are these other women? Are these deployments just hanging out on these big bases that are like towns?

Cuz it's like I don't imagine guys doing patrols in Afghanistan having many suitable women around...

prostitutes, girls that they meet in bars etc

dude i know was deployed in UAE and had a girlfriend there the whole time even though he had a gf back home, apparantly its just a thing you do if you are in the military, esp younger guys

Huh, interesting. Well that further justifies my belief that people in the military should tend to avoid starting families and serious relationships until they are completely out of it. Obviously not possible in all cases, but I think the military tries to represent itself as being "family friendly" when it is inherently the opposite of that.

When stationed at home those in service receives benefits for being married (namely housing instead of shit barracks)

Guys get that and the freedom to mess around when deployed- and the wives get to be dependas.

Its tempting and makes for sham marriages.
