Doing Customer Service today. (Ours is in the back of the store for the record) After helping a customer with a difficult return that involved me asking for back up and the store manager. I ask the mesh person in line if i can help them. I get a question about it i can do this with our rewards card, i answer her then she asks if she buy her stuff (full cart with her husband holding more) here, line is now 5 deep with both registers helping, my response was: "I'm terribly sorry but im not allowed to check out large orders back here, if it was one or two items then i would have been glad to assist you. With the line that has formed there just no way to make it work."
Lady gets mad and tells my boss (the store manager) that i was giving horrible customer service and that in shouldn't be working back there.
My boss apologized but said the exact same thing i did which ticked the lady off because she didnt want to stand in line.
That's one of my pet peeves, asking to speak to a manager when things don't go your way
That doesn't mean the customer will magically get their way as if a store manager is some sort of retail magician ---
