I remember that one top gear episode where it broke halfway through a race for no reason. The car in question was the Tesla Roadster. It was their first car and was based on a Lotus, a company known for faulty cars for most of its history. The test in question was also faked to give the viewer a bad impression of electric cars since Top Gear is supposed to be a "petrol head" show. Tesla was pissed and tried to sue for slander (they lost).
