No, I'm taking care of the parentheses by getting rid of it. Which means multiplying it, not that I don't think you have to multiply first. All in the order of PEMDAS. I'm saying what is likely the cause of people doing 23 first instead of 36 / 2. Most people have a basic understanding of PEMDAS in the sense they know that multiplication comes before addition and parentheses trumps all.
