It's reasonable given its distance to downtown, lot size, square footage and amenities, yes. As house for, say, me and my fiance and literally no one else is excessive on a variety of fronts (including our budget)

Most of the 8000+ square foot single families built after 2000 are in the 1m+ range, even in TX. Once you allow for foundations built back in the early 1900's you find some that are less than 1m.

but seriously -- why would someone want 8000 sq ft, aside from the novelty of just having that much space?
