Topic | Taking Whey Protein for diet but when do I take it? |
philsov 07/25/17 10:43:35 AM #17: | EpicMickeyDrew posted... Surely closer is better, that's when your muscles most need the protein? To phrase it another way, where's the cut off point? 5 hours is fine, sure, but what about 6 hours? 8 hours? 12 hours? 24 hours? 50 hours? Your muscles take in free protein in your bloodstream from 0 hours to 36 hours after resistance training. And whey specifically enters the bloodstream between 1-3 hours after consumption. It's not a medicinal shot -- you've got a digestive system after all. Casein protein, and most other forms (meat, veggies, etc), enter the bloodstream about 3-5 hours after consumption. So the ideal intake window is before the workout through about a day and a half afterwards. So, yes, protein timing with regards to muscle building means almost nothing provided you're having regular meals. --- Remember that I won't rest, 'til we share the same tense Just know, to me, you're better late than never again. ...
