that would depend on the rate of homicide per capita. there's no reason to be cautious of this when dating if the odds of winding up with someone who would do this are so low that your caution had a minimal effect on the outcome. or if the probability of a man killing his partner is dependent on things unrelated to how cautious she is of his visible behavior patterns.

imo most of the concern women have about this is tied to the illusion of control. it's not that it's likely you'll find a guy who'll kill you--it's that if you do, there is very little you can do to stop them

the reasoning is similar to why we want to spend billions against terrorism when it kills fewer americans than lightning.
