Then there are paralogues, chain challenges, and finally the squad assault to do that will all get you more orbs. Yes, once you run out, though, there's not much else to do. They've been fairly good at giving you reasons to come back to get more orbs through various other things, though, with quests, special maps, voting gauntlets, and Tempest Trials.
