There are too many forces holding you back in some companies...as in they rather get that promotion instead of you. When I was younger, I wasn't satisfied with my part time hourly pay, so I started interviewing around. One company offer more than double my hourly rate, so I went back to my boss and they agreed to double my hourly rate.
