Yeah take out Ami and Mami and put in Takane and Haruka and it would be the perfect game with all of the best girls. But alas, I think Takane and Haruka are both split between the other two versions. I guess I would also swap out Hibiki with Yukiho to make my "perfect" version.
I don't think you can buy the Shiny Festa games on iOS anymore though, IIRC they were de-listed for some reason. There's always the PSP versions though, and they're honestly better as they don't have half the songs locked away as DLC like the iOS versions did. Free DLC, but still a pain because you have to download it all and Apple will delete your stuff without asking to make room for their updates.
As far as light enough on text to try the Shiny Festa games are probably the best bet. No real story to them at all, they're just primarily rhythm games.
Idolmaster 2 you can't even produce Iori, as she's part of the rival Ryuugu Komachi group.
Platinum Stars on PS4 might be another option. Way less emphasis on text and communication events than the previous games, and more emphasis on a straight up rhythm game. Plus you can produce Iori. It doesn't come with many songs and you have to pay a ton for DLC to make the song roster worth it, though.
It also adds a few really good new songs like Amaterasu (but I'm pretty sure that's DLC)
I'm actually okay with the twins, they are so entertaining lol. Iori, Haruka, Hibiki, and the twins would be great.
I was hoping to get Shiny Festa on mobile rather than psp, cause well if it's translated might as well go with it. But I have an android. And if it's unavailable now normally cause Namco is a fuckboy... well I won't say anything else on that.
I heard there were some psp games with fan translations. I wonder if there is a site that has translations of the events in Platinum Stars... ---
