| Topic | The Handmaid's Tale is the worst show I've ever seen. |

Like every scene that's supposed to be dramatic just felt kind of forced and lacked a lot of subtlety. For example, the scene where the soldiers start shooting machine guns into the protesting crowd during one of the flashbacks. It's all slow motion and directed in such a way that it's like, "Yes, this is what soldiers do." It's written by someone who thinks anything militarized is scary and intent on murdering innocent people. One of the other scenes, Alexis Bidel gets circumcised or w/e. Sure, that's pretty intense. But then they zoom in on her face like, "whoa, wtf? Female genital mutilation, ah!!!" The show is kind of like a haunted house that I just can't empathize with. --- "Oh, my mother; oh, my friends, ask the angels, will I ever see heaven again?" - Laura Marling ...
