I remember I tried to volunteer at soup kitchen/homeless shelter to make turkey deliveries for thanksgiving. Not for school credits or for a resume, just out of the kindness of my heart. I had to go through multiple interviews, references, speak with various people, background checks, etc. It was silly. I'll never do it again for that exact reason. Call me am you-know-what hole but maybe more people would if you just let them volunteer without the drama. I'm not applying to be CEO of a business.
