The problem is that media almost always portrays them with certain stereotypes and that transcends into the real world. Some of them fit that stereotype and it furthers the narrative that they are all like that. I don't get on those dating sites, but I imagine most of them on there fit that narrative because they are the insufferable ones who couldn't find someone in real life....like my sister-in-law.
