A) It never occurred you at any time leading up to that post to throw "NATO" into a google search and spend 2 minutes reading a summary of the history of the organization up until that point.
B) History just doesn't stick in your mind. You may have read about NATO pre-2001 a hundred times it just didn't leave a lasting impression.
I'm not trying to be condescending I'm just trying to understand how this could have happened. If it is A I feel like it just means that you should probably google more things, especially if you are going to post/speak about them. No reason to let gamefaqs be your only source.
If it is B then I really don't know what to tell you. If info like this just bounces off your mind no matter how many times you come in contact with it then maybe you should acknowledge that politics/history just aren't your thing and you should accept that you don't really have a place discussing political matters.
Everyone should discuss political matters whether they fully know everything or not. That's how you learn.
Mal_Fet is a knowledgable guy who's been right about a lot of things, so that wall of text based on one thing he got wrong was unnecessary.
I'm not calling him stupid. I've known plenty of smart people that don't know shit about history or politics but I would question the worth of his opinion on NATO if up until mid 2017 he didn't know that it existed before 9/11.
Him posting that means he is incredibly ignorant when it comes to history and politics in the post WW2 era up to the present.
