That's exactly the scenario as it sits. My comment was focusing more on the context of minority actors threatening to leave shows due to disagreements and how often American media productions remain unphased by it. That's a grim reality regardless of this particular story. How my comment relates is that the two actors threatening to leave are likely going to experience the same fate. They will just get replaced and forgotten. TV show productions have teams that address these situations now and many of them aim for finding replacements that "outshine" the previous cast who left. There's already other minority actors lined up who are eager to take open spots even before the originals leave.
