Not by the defense, especially if it's a criminal trial. No judge wants to be appealed because they let a blatant racist sit on a trial against a minority. I think people who aren't racist don't want to be seen as racist, so they usually won't pretend to be racist in open court. If someone really sounds like they're prejudiced, I think odds are that they're probably just saying what's on their mind and shouldn't be allowed to sit on the jury.
