As someone who played them a lot when I was younger, Crash 1 remake is pretty frustrating because they changed the jump to feel heavier but the level layouts are the same and the platforms are spaced just as far apart as before, so some of the sections are unnecessarily difficult because of the new controls.

Also, In the old games, either you jumped and landed on a platform, or you missed and fell down. Now, sometimes you'll barely make a jump and then the game decides you should slide off the side of the platform because of the new engine they built this game in probably uses too many physics rules that complicate a simple platformer like this game.

But those are my only complaints. I just started Crash 2 and the game seems less frustrating to control, but that might be because of the layouts being more forgiving and also because of the helpful slide-jump that didn't exist in 1. The music in both games has been remixed a bit but it still sounds good, and the graphics look very nice while still maintaining the old charm.

If you were a big fan, I would recommend the trilogy. If you're new to Crash, I'd still hesitantly recommend it but don't play Crash 1 first or you'll hate the whole series.
