The biggest issues companies will face isn't the increased salary, it's the increased volume of sales if minimum wage goes up. Especially a company like McDonalds, they'd get WAY more customers, thus taking care of the increased wage, however, for a short while, the demand will be so high, that they may not have enough resources to control for it all. But after a short while, that will be settled.

But I do believe that a minimum wage will not increase the price of food that much and due to the increase of demand, will create more jobs. A potential downside may be that promotions will not offer enough to take on the extra work, so there may be some issues there, but we'd have to wait and see.

But even if you lose cashiers due to those machines, all that will end up happening is things will be more streamlined and again, demand goes up, and they'll need to hire more people to cook the food.

So yeah, minimum wage going up = good thing.
