While the justice system may be corrupt and unequal, the black community needs to take its share of the responsibility as well. Its not one or the other.

If they wanted the movement to focus on police violence angainst black people, they should have gone with name that reflects that.

The movement is saying that "Black lives matter" as in the police (aka the protectors and keepers of the peace) should not treat "blacks" as if their lives are less than, or otherwise do not matter.
It's fucking hilarious that I have to even explain this, but criminals, you know, the people who kill people without warrant, those groups that act against the law to the point that many of their groups are nigh uncontrollable, they won't listen to protesting. No amount of anyone saying random statements on the street with a cardboard sign from Walmart is going to stop a literal thug who is a member of a gang from selling dope or breaking into someone's house. It's simply not logical or even feasible at all to compare those kinds of people to the police. The aim is for the police, aka supposedly the good guys, will become more lenient and more cognoscente to black people. Because it has been proven many a times that has simply not been the case. The implications of the name should be blatantly apparent to anyone with even a quarter of a damn brain. No fucking shit this isn't a message to criminals who wouldn't listen to begin with.

I'm sorry, how do you take responsibility for the crimes of others? Why is that specifically, only, our job? Once again, poverty is the main factor that relates to crime. If you want to get something done, start helping out the black community by not treating them as outcasts who need to only worry about their own shit who don't deserve your help until something is fixed. ---
