Jokes aside, there is a flipside to that argument, TC. When you just have one writer for a series, they quite often get burned out, run out of ideas or just straight up lose the fucking plot.

Examples: Bleach, Berserk, Naruto....hell pretty much every long running shonen ends up in a weird place eventually that doesn't make sense, is boring as hell and has a lame and unsatisfying ending. I would say that having other writers reimagine the source material is pretty great.

I would much rather have the former than the latter. How many universe resets DC have already because too many writers fucked up?

Are you sure about that? did you enjoy the ending to Bleach? Are you happy with the progress in Berserk over the past 10 years? Would you say that Naruto got better over time?

Personally while I love some of these mangas, too often they end up a disappointing mess.

The fact that American comics so readily allow new writers to reimagine the universe is how we ended up with some of the greatest comic book stories ever told, e.g. Old Man Logan, Planet Hulk, JLA Tower of Babel, etc.
