When you just have one writer for a series, they quite often get burned out, run out of ideas or just straight up lose the fucking plot. Examples: Bleach, Berserk, Naruto....hell pretty much every long running shonen ends up in a weird place eventually that doesn't make sense, is boring as hell and has a lame and unsatisfying ending.
