First of all, since he was collecting since the wheat penny days, he already had a fuckton of pennies worth more than a cent. perhaps he has an extremely rare error or something? Also, pennies from a certain year, I think 82 but i forget, are made out of actual copper and are worth at melt value more than a penny. those, which of has a ton of, would be worth more than a cent.

He might have indian head pennies, key dates, jesus christ who knows what.

I can see the old guy not wanting to deal with it but i could see people paying a hefty fee for it, honestly. there just has to be some home rumes amongst 80,000 pennies coming from the mid 1900s onward...
