Removing a human from his tools is almost like removing a wolf from his teeth, except many crafty humans can develop fighting techniques that allow them to lethally take down a better-armed predator. However, in this situation, it would have to be a lethal takedown to protect you from any further attacks from the animal. And at that point, may as well eat the meat so it doesn't go to waste.
