It's a need, but I don't know how you can have people be "entitled" to it without forcing people to be with them. For example, you are entitled to a public defender if you are criminally charged and cannot afford your own attorney. Can you be similarly entitled to a girlfriend if you are single and cannot get your own? Unless we have the government start paying people to do this, I certainly don't think so.
